A bus crashed on a mountainous road in south-western Saudi Arabia injuring 23 students, according to a media report. The accident had occurred on one of the mountains of the Barmah Pass, which links the Tanuma and Muhayil Asir governorates in the Asir region, Okaz newspaper said. The injured include one in critical condition, and eight others sustaining medium injuries while the remaining 14 were slightly wounded, the report added. Teams of paramedics were dispatched to the site and transported the wounded to the Tanuma hospital. In recent weeks, Saudi media reported several accidents; some were fatal. Last month, a pileup involving 11 cars in Riyadh killed one person and injured two others, the Saudi traffic authorities said. The accident happened due to the recklessness of a driver of one vehicle that hit the pavement and the roadway median, the Saudi Traffic Directorate added.
