A tenant at the Manama Central Market has been sentenced to three months in prison after being convicted of unauthorized electricity consumption, the Capital Municipality announced. The Capital Municipality stated that the High Criminal Court issued the ruling after the tenant was found to have installed illegal electrical connections, bypassing the system through fraudulent means. The violations were uncovered during a routine technical inspection report, which also highlighted the lack of compliance with safety regulations. Following the discovery, the Capital Municipality took the necessary legal measures and filed a case against the offender. The authority emphasised the importance of adhering to the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It urged all tenants and business operators to comply with contractual agreements to safeguard public funds and avoid legal consequences.
