Hilton Bahrain, continuing its mission towards environmental sustainability has marked another year of Green Ramadan. The hotel’s renewed efforts, returning for the second time, are part of a broader regional collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) West Asia, food waste technology provider Winnow, and sustainability platform Goumbook. The initiative, launched to address the sharp rise in food waste during Ramadan, promotes responsible consumption and supports local food systems. In line with Hilton’s global ‘Travel with Purpose 2030 Goals’—which include a target to halve food waste sent to landfill—Hilton Bahrain is taking a data-led approach to managing resources more efficiently throughout the holy month as guests visit its iconic tent for iftar and ghabga – The Dome by STC. A Collective Effort A central component of the hotel’s Ramadan programme is its partnership with the Bahrain Food Bank and Peninsula Farms. Guests attending the Iftar will notice a dedicated section that highlights locally sourced produce, much of it coming directly from Peninsula Farms. The move not only spotlights fresh organic ingredients grown in Bahrain but also helps support the local agricultural sector.
