Algeria partakes in 149th IPU in Geneva

ALGIERS- A delegation of the Parliament’s two Houses, led by the speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, will take part, from 13 to 17 October, in the 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and associated meetings, scheduled in Geneva (Switzerland), the Parliament’s Lower House said Friday in a communiqué.

The Algerian parliamentary delegation is made up of the vice-speaker of the People’s National Assembly and member of the bureau of the High-Level Advisory Group on Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism of IPU, Monder Bouden, of the first vice-speaker of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians and member of the bureau of the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights of the IPU, Farida Ilimi, and president of the President of the Transport and Telecommunications Commission at the APN and member of the bureau of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians and the bureau of the Standing Committee on International Peace and Security of the IPU, Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit.

The Council of the Nation will be represented in this delegation by its vice-speaker and vice-speaker of the Executive Committee of the IPU, Ahmed Kherchi, and senators Fouzia Benbadis, Abderrahmane Guenchouba and Kamel Khelifati.
