ASEAN: Bouden holds several bilateral meetings in Vientiane

ALGIERS- The deputy speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Monder Bouden, held, on the sidelines of his participation in the 45th General Assembly of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in Vientiane (Laos), several bilateral meetings, the Lower House said Sunday in a press release.

In this respect, Bouden held discussions with the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Laos, Khambai Damlat, with whom he discussed “the cooperation state and perspectives between the two countries and ways to boost them, notably at the Parliamentary level.”

Bouden also held bilateral meetings with the Parliamentary presidents of Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia and Belarus, as well as the Vice-President of the Armenian parliament.

Bouden also had a meeting with the Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives, during which both parties emphasized “the need to strengthen bilateral relations in view of the historical friendship uniting them in various fields.”

They also agreed to “schedule remote meetings, exchange visits and create two parliamentary friendship groups at the two parliamentary assemblies, in addition to coordination and consultation at international forums, particularly within ASEAN,” concluded the same source. [/ecr]
