UN Resident Coordinator in Algeria praises Algeria's role in establishing peace worldwide
ALGIERS - The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Algeria, Ambassador Alejandro Alvarez, praised on Monday the "important and central" role of Algeria as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in establishing peace in the world.

At the end of his mission to Algiers, and after a meeting granted to him by President of the Republic, Abdelmadji Tebboune, Alvarez said that “Algeria was a non-permanent member at the UN Security Council and that it had a vital and central role in building a world of peace, which will strengthen the long path of Algeria that has always called for establishing peace in the world.”

Furthermore, Alvarez commended the partnership between Algeria and the different UN bodies, particularly in the field of sustainable development, stressing in this regard the progress made by the two countries in the economic, social, education and health sectors.

The meeting witnessed the presence of Chief of Satff at the Presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem. [/ecr]
