ALGIERS-The relations between Algeria and Egypt are marked by their historical depth and strategic character, with both countries seeking to establish fruitful cooperation that meets the aspirations of their two brotherly peoples, and to maintain the tradition of consultation and coordination on various regional and international issues, particularly those concerning the Arab-Muslim nation and the African continent.

These relations are to be further developed on the occasion of the working and brotherly visit of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the Arab Republic of Egypt, as from Sunday.

During the past few years, the bilateral relations have witnessed a new dynamic that has been reflected on the will of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi, to strengthen historical brotherhood ties, promote cooperative relations and partnerships in various fields, in the service of the common interests of both countries and the aspirations of both brotherly peoples.

The dynamic of these relations, which are a model of cooperation and solidarity between Arab and African countries, is evident through the exchange of official visits between the two countries’ leaders.

The President of the Republic had made a brotherly and working visit to Cairo in January 2022, at the invitation of his brother, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi. He had also participated in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), in November of the same year, in the 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 27).

From his part, the Egyptian President took part in the 31st ordinary session of the Arab Summit that was held in Algiers, in November 2022.

The leaders of the two countries give great importance to the coordination and dialogue on different issues of common interest, notably those linked to the Arab Muslim nation and the African continent through a permanent and continued contact.[/ecr]
