70th anniversary of National Liberation Revolution: Algeria above any consideration

ALGIERS — The Speaker of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), a mujahid and key witness to the events of 1 November 1954, Salah Goudjil, on the eve of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the glorious National Liberation Revolution, once again urged Algerians to “stand united” and place Algeria “above all considerations.”

“I once again urge all Algerians to stand united and place Algeria above all considerations,” Goudjil stated in a Thursday interview with national media outlets, highlighting the “inspiring” example of the six historical leaders.

“These six leaders have set a powerful example by setting aside all ideologies and affiliations, overlooking differences to focus on a single goal: Recovering Algeria's independence,” he underscored, adding that today's paramount mission is “safeguarding Algeria.”

“We must focus our efforts on comprehensive development across all sectors to ensure the future for upcoming generations,” he said.

He further paid homage to all chouhada (martyrs) and mujahideen and addressed his heartfelt gratitude to the People's National Army (PNA)—the worthy and deserving heir of the National Liberation Army—for “their unwavering commitment to national unity and territorial integrity of the country.”
