Military parade celebrating 70th anniversary of Liberation War warps up

ALGIERS-The military parade, organised on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Glorious Liberation War of 1st November 1954, under the supervision of the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defence, Abdelamdjid Tebboune, wrapped up on Friday afternoon in Algiers.

The parade was organized by the People’s National Army (PNA) at the level of the trunk road 11 adjacent to Djamaa el-Djazair, in Algiers, with the participation of different PNA forces, as well as the National Police, the Civil Protection and the Algerian Customs.

The event was also held in the presence of Heads of State from friendly and allied countries, senior State officials, government members, members of the revolutionary family, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria, who were invited to share with Algeria the joy of the celebration of this event.

To the sound of military music and a 70-gun salute, the President of the Republic, accompanied by Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (PNA), General Saïd Chanegriha, reviewed military formations participating in the parade and the representatives of the PNA forces.

The military parade began with aerial demonstrations performed over the Bay of Algiers by PNA aircrafts, including tactical transport planes, reconnaissance planes, and fighter and bomber aircrafts, alongside combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search-and-rescue helicopters.

Thousands of citizens, including young people and families, adorned with the national emblem chanting patriotic slogans and songs, gathered from the early morning hours along the highway adjacent to Djamaa El-Djazaïr to attend this grandiose military parade, marked by excellent organization, thanks to the mobilization of security and military authorities, the services of the Algiers province, as well as members of the civil society, that were present in force to guide citizens and ensure their comfort.
