Upper house to take part in NATO Parliamentary Assembly's 70th annual session

ALGIERS —  The Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament) will participate as of Friday in the 70th annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Montreal, Canada, the upper house said Thursday in a press release.

“Assigned by Salah Goudjil, Speaker of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Aissa Naili, President of the National Defense Committee, and Lakhdar Moulay Saadoun, a member of the upper house, will participate in the 70th annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly,” the same source said.

The session's agenda, set to continue through next Monday, includes “examining reports from the permanent committees of the Parliamentary Assembly and its Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group,” the statement said.

“Key themes include combating sexual violence in conflict zones, advancing technological progress and exploring responsible military applications of artificial intelligence,” the same source added.
