On the second day of his official visit to the State of Kuwait, General Saïd Chanegriha, Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, was received today, 25 November 2024, by Sheikh Fahd Youssef Saoud Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Minister of the Interior of the State of Kuwait,” said the same source.
The audience, which took place in the presence of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the army, high-ranking officials of the Kuwaiti army, the Ambassador of Algeria to Kuwait, Abdelkader Kacimi El Hassani, and members of the Algerian military delegation, was devoted to “evaluating the state of bilateral military cooperation between Algeria and the State of Kuwait, two countries that share strong and distinguished fraternal relations, embodied by the moderate and honourable positions regarding international and regional issues,” said the press release.
During this meeting, General Chanegriha expressed “his consideration and gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation, wishing that this visit will contribute to deepening the bilateral cooperative relations.”
General Chanegriha transmitted to Sheikh Fahd Youssef Saoud Al-Sabah “the greetings of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, reiterating his aspiration to raise bilateral military cooperation between the two armies to the highest levels.”
For his part, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saoud Al-Sabah shared “his joy in receiving General Chanegriha and his satisfaction with the level of understanding that characterizes bilateral relations between the two countries on several regional and international issues, an understanding that can be further strengthened by expanding cooperation areas in the future.”
General Chanegriha also met with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Major General Pilot Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, noted the same source.
During this meeting, which took place in the presence of high-ranking officials from both countries, “the two parties discussed bilateral military relations and the means to strengthen them from a forward-looking perspective that takes into account the interests of the two brotherly peoples.”
In this respect, the General delivered a speech in which “he saluted the exceptional welcome extended to him and his delegation by the Kuwaiti authorities, emphasizing the density of relations between the two brotherly countries and the People’s National Army’s disposition to establish a solid and sustainable partnership with the brothers of the State of Kuwait.”
For his part, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti army congratulated the Army General “on his appointment to the functions of Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army.”
He expressed “his satisfaction with the level of understanding that characterizes bilateral military cooperation relations, which could be further strengthened by this visit, before thanking the Army General for honouring this invitation.”
General Chanegriha visited the Moubarak Al-Abdoullah Joint Staff School, “where he received exhaustive explanations about this important military training establishment, as well as the provided training and instruction programs.”
In this regard, the General expressed “his appreciation for the level of this training structure, formulating the wish to lay the foundations for future bilateral cooperation, which will allow the exchange of experiences with Kuwaiti brothers in the field of training.”
At the headquarters of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence, the General had a discussion with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Sheikh Abdoullah Mechaal Al-Sabah, during which “the two parties discussed the distinguished bilateral relations maintained by the two countries and the means to strengthen them in a forward-looking approach that takes into account the interests of the two brother peoples and the historical and fraternal relations that unite them.”
