In his message, the President of the Republic reaffirmed “Algeria’s constant and unwavering support to the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to regain their right to self-determination and to establish an independent and sovereign State within the borders of 4 June, 1967 with El Qods as its capital, in accordance with the decisions of the international law,” emphasizing “the imperative of holding the occupier accountable for the genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity that it continues to commit against the Palestinian people.”

“The celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People comes this year in a particular context, marked by the brutal aggression of the Israeli occupation against the defenceless Palestinian people, notably in the Gaza Strip, an aggression that has entered its second year in the face of the vile international inability to end its atrocious consequences through which the Israeli occupier tramples on all charters and rules,” affirmed the President of the Republic in his message.

Organized by the Embassy of the State of Palestine, in collaboration with the United Nations’ Representatives to Algeria, the ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria, parliament members, representatives of constitutional bodies, presidents and members of political parties, and representatives of associations, unions and of the civil society.
