Arkab, Singaporean Ambassador discuss means to strengthen bilateral cooperation

ALGIERS- Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Mohammed Arkab, received on Wednesday in Algiers, the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Algeria, Mohammad Alami Musa, with whom he discussed the means aimed strengthening bilateral cooperation, said the ministry in a Communiqué.

[ec]  During the meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of several senior officials, both parties welcomed the "privileged" relations between Algeria and Singapore, expressing satisfaction with the continuous development of these relations, according to the same source.

Discussions between the two sides focused on "assessing the state of bilateral cooperation and exploring prospects for its enhancement in the fields of energy, mining, and renewable energy," the source said.

In the same regard, both parties expressed satisfaction with the thriving trade relations between Sonatrach and Singaporean companies, particularly in the field of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the ministry added.

On this occasion, the Minister of State gave a comprehensive presentation on the major axes of the development program for the energy, mining, and renewable energy sectors in Algeria, emphasizing "promising investment opportunities, particularly in the areas of hydrocarbons, photovoltaic solar energy, and the development of green hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy source," according to the same Communiqué. 

Furthermore, the two parties expressed their willingness to "establish a mutually beneficial partnership," including knowledge transfer, exchange of expertise, and training in various fields related to the sector, added the same source.

In this regard, both sides agreed to "organize meetings bringing together experts from both countries to examine areas of cooperation and establish practical mechanisms for its implementation on the ground," the source concluded. [/ecr]
