The meeting, held in Oran (432-km weszt of Algeria) on the sidelines of the 11th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, was dedicated to examine cooperation between Algeria and the African Union in the fields relating to peace and security.
The meeting also shed light on Algeria's support to African institutions it hosts, such as the African Centre for Studies and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT) and the African Union Police Cooperation Mechanism (AFRIPOL).
In a statement to the media following the discussions, Adeoye said Africa was facing great challenges, requiring solidarity and cooperation between African countries to meet them.
He added that Algeria was a model to follow in the fight against terrorism, having successfully defeated it in the past.
"African countries facing such a problem can learn valuable lessons from the Algerian success in the field."
