Merad receives Turkiye’s ambassador to Algeria

ALGIERS- Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, received Tuesday, at the headquarters of the ministry, Turkiye’s ambassador to Algeria, Muhammet Mucahit Kucukyilmaz, the ministry said in a statement.

The two sides reviewed “the fields of bilateral cooperation in light of the distinguished historical relations between the two countries, and in implementation of the supreme political will to elevate the level of joint cooperation,” said the source.

The two sides examined “prospects for collaborative work in areas relating to the sector of Interior and to the issues on local development.”

The two sides also discussed “the strengthening of cooperation activities in security, fight against crime, disaster management, operation intervention of the Civil Protection as well as local governance, while intensifying the exchange of experiences and training,” said the statement.

The two sides discussed “economic partnership opportunities and investment consolidation throughout the country’s provinces, notably in strategic sectors, as part of the national economic diversification policy,” according to the source.
