Arkab, DG of UNIDO examine ways to boost cooperation relations

ALGIERS – The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received on Monday in Algiers the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Gerd Muller, along with the accompanying delegation, the ministry noted in a press release.

The meeting focused on ways and means to boost the cooperation relations in energy and mining with this UN agency, the statement said.

During this meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy, in the presence of department executives, Arkab gave a global overview of the “various development programs of the sector, particularly in hydrocarbons, electricity, new and renewable energy, with a view to achieving a diversified and balanced energy mix, like the development of green hydrogen, as well as mining and seawater desalination”

The two parties also examined “other aspects of cooperation of common interest, related to the transfer of knowledge and new technologies, in addition to the exchange of expertise in energy and mining with Algeria and African countries,” the same source said.
