The meeting centered on cooperation outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed between Sonatrach and the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC). This agreement, amended earlier this year, aims to restart the Algerian group's activity under its contractual commitments and develop oil and gas fields discovered in partnership in Libya.

During this meeting, both parties reaffirmed “their commitment to bolster cooperation to achieve their common strategic objectives in this vital sector,” the statement said.

The CEO of Sonatrach and the accompanying delegation visited the headquarters of Honeywell in Houston, a company specializing in oil services and energy industry monitoring and control systems.

On this occasion, representatives of this company showcased to the Algerian delegation their advanced methane emission detection technologies, digital solutions to achieve facility efficiency, and remote control and automation systems.

The Algerian delegation also visited Honeywell's innovation center, gaining insights into the latest technological advancements for reducing carbon footprints in the energy industry, the same source wrapped up.
