Faid receives delegation from Qatari group Ooredoo

ALGIERS — Finance Minister Laaziz Faid received on Wednesday in Algiers a delegation from the Qatari group Ooredoo, led by its CEO, Aziz Othman Fakhrou, with whom he discussed means to boost cooperation and develop the group's activities in Algeria, as per a ministry statement.

During this meeting held at the ministry headquarters, both parties welcomed “the new boost in bilateral economic relations, marked by several partnership agreements in health, agriculture and industry,” the same source said.

On this occasion, the Qatari delegation expressed “satisfaction with the smooth operation of its investments in Algeria and their positive results.”

The delegation also expressed “great interest in developing and diversifying its activities in Algeria, not only through the ongoing development of its network but also by expanding its range of services offered to consumers,” the statement added.

According to the ministry, this operator's contribution to the Algerian economy's digitalization effort and its participation in electronic payment development were also central to the discussions.

At the end of this meeting, both parties agreed to continue their “bilateral dialogue and enhance exchanges to work together to bolster cooperative relations and capitalize on the significant potential of this win-win partnership,” the same source said.
