ALGIERS- The International Conference on Digital Payments in Algeria, organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Algeria in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), kicked off Tuesday in Algiers.

The opening of this two-day event was chaired by the minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, alongside the Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Salah Eddine Taleb, and the Director General and Chairman of AMF Board, Fahd Bin Mohamed Al-Turki.

Held under the theme “Digital Payments in Algeria: Advancing Towards a Cashless Future,” the conference will discuss various issues during its discussion panels, including innovations in finance, financial services, open banking, as well as payment service providers, and instant payment systems.

The event will witness the participation of both Algerian and international experts in digital financial services, information technology, and economics, along with representatives from various government departments, banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions.[/ecr]
