Speaking at the opening of this event, which runs through Thursday, organized by the communication company “Incop Events” at the Sheraton Hotel, the governor of Annaba, Abdelkader Djellaoui, said that the strong presence of African country representatives “will drive useful consultation between nations of the continent, boost agricultural development and generate opportunities for joint actions to achieve the objective of food security.”
Djellaoui added that this international economic event, now in its second edition, is “highly significant as it allows experience exchange and build regional partnerships between different African countries.”
This international exhibition is at the heart of the national strategy through which Algeria aims to achieve food security and attain self-sufficiency in numerous agricultural sectors, particularly in cereals, he added.
For his part, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Algeria, Sidi Mohamed Mohamed Abdallah, noted that the choice of Mauritania as the guest of honor at this international event mirrors the “strong and deep relations between Algeria and Mauritania.”
He further said that this exhibition would serve as “an opportunity for Mauritania to meet Algerian agricultural sector stakeholders and hold bilateral meetings to discuss partnership opportunities.”
