Speaking on the sidelines of the opening of this economic event, accompanied by Qatar's Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Zitouni announced that this was "the first Algerian exhibition organized in Qatar," with the participation of more than 150 Algerian companies representing all production sectors in Algeria.
According to the minister, the showcased products have proven highly successful in both achieving domestic self-sufficiency and establishing Algeria's presence in export markets.
Zitouni noted that Algeria has already reached its target of USD7 billion in non-oil exports and has set an ambitious goal of increasing this figure to USD30 billion by 2030, underlining that these projections are based on comprehensive data from Algeria's manufacturing sector and take into account existing partnerships with various countries, particularly Qatar."
The opening of this economic event, which comes to strengthen the economic and commercial relations between Algeria and Qatar, and which aims to make the Algerian products known in Qatar, took place in the presence of Algeria’s ambassador to Qatar, Salah Attia, president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula, president of the National Union of Public Entrepreneurs (UNEP), Charaf-Eddine Amara, as well as the president of the Qatari Businessmen Association, Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani.
Organized by the company “Tasdir” (subsidiary of Safex Group), in collaboration with the Algerian Chamber of Trade and industry (CACI) and the Qatari Chamber, this exhibition, to be held until 26 October, with the participation of 150 Algerian companies exhibiting a wide range of products, like agri-food, industrial and artisanal products known for their quality in the international markets, concluded the statement.
