The head of the National Chamber of Agriculture, Mohamed Yazid Hambli, at a news conference Sunday, said the event organized by the chamber under the auspices of the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, will be themed "Our dates... authenticity and sustainable economy."

The event, according to him, will bring different actors and stakeholders of the industry, including producers, packers, exporters, processors and local artisans as well as participants from foreign countries, such as Tunisia, Libya and Turkey.

The fair will provide to the participants a "shared space to exchange ideas and meet the challenge of developing the sector," Hambli said.

He added that the event was a "way to stimulate competition to improve the product and promote exports."
