Entrepreneurship: President of the Republic announces best startups competition

ALGIERS-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced Monday the organization of the best startups competition to honor the achievements of new Algeria’s youth.

[ecr] In a speech to mark the official opening of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Algeria, read on his behalf by the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Yacine Oualid, at a meeting held at the Palace of Nations (Algiers), the President of the Republic announced his decision to “organize a national competition for the best start-ups to honor the achievements of young people in the new Algeria.”

“I invite you to seize the opportunities offered in your country, braving difficulties with perseverance and determination,” said the President of the Republic to young people.

“Algeria intends to establish itself as an African hub for technology and innovation, thanks to start-ups’ current momentum,” he continued.

“We are convinced that if we are to achieve the economic growth we are aiming for, the State must have confidence in its young people and in their ability to be stakeholders in national development,” stated the President of the Republic. [/ecr]
