Algeria, FAO ink new technical partnership framework

ALGIERS- A new technical partnership framework (Country Programming Framework - CPF) for 2023-2027 was signed Monday, in Algiers, between the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to define the areas of strategic partnership between the two sides, the ministry said in a statement.

[ECR] The partnership framework was signed by the secretary general of the ministry of Agriculture, Hamid Bensaad, and the FAO representative in Algeria, Irina Buttoud, under the supervision of the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Youcef Cherfa, in the presence of the secretary general of the ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy, in addition to representatives of the sectors of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, of Water Resources, of Trade and Exports Promotion, and of Fishing and Fishery Resources.

The CPF, the third of its kind between Algeria and the FAO, defines the strategic partnership in Algeria's priority fields, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the year 2023, the statement said.

The Country Programming Framework is meant to be the culmination of participative action involving several ministerial sectors, with a view to developing its priorities and objectives, the statement said. [/ECR]
