[ecr] Organized by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the National Waste Agency under the aegis of the ministry of Trade and Exports Promotion and the ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy, the fair has brought together nearly 80 exhibitors, including 32 economic companies, five associations operating in the environmental field and 25 start-ups.
The opening ceremony was chaired by the director general of Environment and Sustainable Development at the ministry of Environment and Renewable Energies, Messaoud Tebani, along with the head of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kamel Hammeni, and the member of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Lyes Achour, representing the house's speaker, in addition to executives from the ministry of Environment and that of Trade.
The event is meant to promote the use of modern technology in the recovery and recycling of industrial, domestic and agricultural waste, by shedding light on the latest innovations in the field.
It also aims to encourage investment in waste management and to create communication opportunities between investors and leading companies operating in the field, to enhance investment in green technology, according to organizers. [/ecr]
