Sonatrach’s participation aims to “strengthen cooperation with international partners and exchange experiences and knowledge in hydrogen technologies, so as to contribute to accelerating energy transition and achieving sustainable development,” Sonatrach said in a press release.

This participation also reflects Sonatrach's commitment to invest in the hydrogen industry as part of its strategy to strengthen the role of renewable energies in its energy mix and reduce its carbon footprint, according to the press release.

Sonelgaz said in its statement that its participation in this event represents “an important strategic step in Algeria's efforts to transition towards clean energy and strengthen international cooperation in the field of renewable energy.”

Through its presence at this regional event, Sonelgaz intends to reaffirm its leadership role in the energy sector and highlight its ongoing projects in the field of renewable energy and hydrogen, added the same source.

During the forum sessions, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, spoke via videoconference to present a comprehensive overview of Algeria's strategy in developing the hydrogen sector, highlighting Algeria's vast potential in this field.
