In a speech delivered during the ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the creation of the National Union of Algerian Farmers (UNPA), the President of the Republic said that “agricultural land is an issue inherited since independence, but we will work to definitively address it in 2025.”

In this respect, he called the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and all government members to work with the farmers so as to find a solution to this issue as well as “legal texts that should define and protect land ownership.”

The President of the Republic emphasized the need “to provide real data” in the agricultural sector, to continue modernizing this key sector, by “ensuring a national production in processing industries honouring the country, and by avoiding the export of raw agricultural products.”

After expressing his pride for the achievements accomplished in this vital sector, the President of the Republic affirmed that farmers “are capable of reaching the expected objectives in terms of self-sufficiency and food security.”[/ecr]
