ORAN- Algerian swimmer Jaouad Syoud won on Monday the gold medal of the 200-m backstroke, on the sixth day of the swimming events of the 15th Arab Sports Games, held at Miloud Hadefi Complex Pool in Oran.

[ecr]   Jaouad Syoud clocked 1.59.38, breaking a new record in this sorting event which was held by Tunisian Oussama Melouli (1.59.98).

Algerian swimmer Fares Bezidoun finished second with 2.03.98 while the bronze medal went to Tunisian Henni Mesfar (2.08.39).
