Arab Sports Games: Boxer Zobeida Hayam Fatima-Zohra clinches gold

ALGIERS- Boxer Zobeida Hayam Fatima-Zohra (63,5 Kg) won Tuesday Algeria's fourth gold medal at the women's boxing tournament, at the Military Team Training Centre of Ben Aknoun, Algiers, as part of the Arab Sports Games (July 5-15).

The Algerian boxer won over her Saudi opponent, Al Naimi Ragad Ibrahim, by default.

It is Algeria's fourth gold medal after those won by Fatiha Mansouri (-48 Kg), Boualem Roumaissa (-50 Kg) and Khelif Hadjila (-60 kg), while their teammate Abdelkader Hadjala Fatma-Zohra got the bronze.

Seven Algerian boxers will compete in the women's finals in the Arab Sports Games, in which 103 boxers (78 men and 25 women) are taking part.

The seven boxers are Fatiha Mansouri (-48 Kg), Boualem Roumaissa (-50 kg), Abdelkader Hadjala Fatma-Zohra (-54 Kg), Khelif Hadjila (-60 Kg), Zobeida Hayam Fatima-Zahra, Khelif Imane (-66 kg) and Benane Djoher (-75kg).

Algeria is competing in the Arab Sports Games with 19 boxers (11 men and eight women), under the coaches Ahmed Dine and Noureddine Touilbini (men) and Abdelhani Kenzi and Mohamed Chaouia (women).
