The Algerian cyclist, who had already booked a berth in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, crossed the finish line of the long race (120 km) first, clocking
2h56m22sec, ahead of Emirati Abdullah Al Ali and his teammate Youcef Reguigui, both of whom clocked the same time.
The outcome of the race allowed Algeria's male team to win the gold medal of the road race.
On Thursday, Algerian Chahra Azzouz won the women's road race, over a distance of 58,6 km, clocking in 1h43m56 sec, ahead of her compatriots Khadidja Laroui, Yasmine El Meddah and Nesrine Houili (same time).
In the team ranking, Algerian women took the gold medal, as they finished first, ahead of Syria and Saudi Arabia, in a race that recorded the participation of 21 cyclists, including representatives of Syria (6), Saudi Arabia (3), Kuwait (3), and the United Arab Emirates (1).
