African Canoe-kayak Championship: Algeria wins two new medals

ABUJA- The Algerian duo Sid Ali Belaïdi and Ali Merzougui clinched the silver medal in Canoe (C2/200m), while kayaker Ayoub Haidra secured the bronze medal in the K1/500m event, on the third day of the Canoe-Kayak African Championships, held in Abuja, Nigeria, from 22 to 27 November, qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

These two new Algerian medals are added to the gold medal won by the kayaker, Aya Ferfad, in the K1/1000m event. Two silver medals were further secured by the duo Arabi Anfel and Riad Bentouati in the K2 mixed 200m event, as well as Ferfad Aya-Arabi Anfel in the K2 500m Kayak events.

The Algerian duo Sid Ali Belaïdi and Ali Merzougui clinched the bronze medal in Canoe (C2/500m), a qualifying event for the 2024 Olympic Games, where only the gold medal winner from that race will secure their spot at the Olympics in Paris.
