RIYADH- The Algerian cycling team (men and women) snatched on Tuesday three new medals (2 gold and 1 bronze) on the third day of the Arab Road Cycling Championship, being held in Riyadh from 15 to 23 December.

The first gold medal was won by Sihem Bousbaa in the individual time trial event, covering 13.5km in 21m18sec71c, ahead of Emirati Maroua Kahouar (21m19sec21c) and Egyptian Aliaa Derouiche (21m22sec37c).

For her part, Algerian Nesrine Houili won the gold medal in the individual time trial event (U23), raced over a distance of 32km in 29m07sec44c.

The bronze medal was harvested by Khadija Aroua in Elite individual time trial event in 47m13sec33c. the gold medal of the race went to Egyptian Ibtissem Zaid Ahmed (44m21sec08), before Iraqi Dehat Kader (29m35sec46c).

With these three new medals, Algeria has won a total of nine medals (4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze).
