Arab road cycling championships (6th day): Algeria snatches three gold medals

RIYADH (Saudi Arabia)- Algeria's road cycling team won five medals (three gold, one silver and one bronze) in the Arab Championships (all categories) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, the sixth day of the competition devoted to men's senior road race.

Two of the three gold medals were won by Hamza Yacine (U23) and the seniors.

The third gold medal went to the national team (senior men), who outclassed their opponents, grabbing the first three positions in the individual general rankings.

Behind Hamza Yacine, who clocked 3h40:34, were two other Algerians who crossed the finish line first, clocking the same time as their compatriot.

The two winners were Hamza Amari and Mohamed Amine Nehari, receiving respectively silver and bronze medals.

Algeria's tally has thus increased to 21 medals (11 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze).

In the general rankings "by teams" of the men's senior road race, Algeria outclassed Morocco (2nd) and the United Arab Emirates (3rd).
