State ready to help, support youth associations

GHARDAIA-The Minister of Youth and Sport, Abderrahmane Hammad said Tuesday that the State was prepared to help and support the various associations and clubs active in youth facilities.

Speaking at a press briefing organized on the sidelines of an inspection visit to the 16th edition of the "South Sport " Olympic Week, Hammad stressed that "the public authorities encourage efforts to promote and propagate cultural, scientific and astronomical activities among young people.”

"We aim to cultivate and encourage in our young people a spirit of initiative and creativity in different sectors of activity, as well as modernizing their work to turn them into successful start-ups,” he stressed.

The Minister stated that "the major objectives and challenges of the youth and sports sector are to improve and modernize it in all areas, in line with the program of the President of the Republic.”

Accompanied by the Governor of Ghardaïa, Abdellah Abinouar, the minister visited the Guerrara commune, 120 km northeast of the province capital to see how the winter youth camp was progressing. The camp is currently being hosted by more than a dozen national associations active in the fields of astronomy and robotics.

The ministerial delegation visited the youth activity exhibition stands, where the minister took note of the progress made in implementing the sports development program in the province of Ghardaïa, in line with government decisions to support the widespread use of sport in education facilities (primary, middle and high schools) as well as universities, and the rational use and maintenance of sports facilities.[/ecr]
