The Team Madar Pro member ranked first, clocking 3h 19m 52s, ahead of Eritrean Meron Teshome Hagos and Mauritian Christopher Rougier Lagane.
In addition to the leader’s yellow jersey, the Algerian rider also received the jersey of the stage’s winner, the green jersey of the best sprinter and the red jersey of the best Algerian cyclist.
The 77 competing cyclists, representing 16 teams, crossed the first stage’s 142 km on a flat circuit, with a pass in Ain Temouchent.
On the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar, the Tour of Algeria is governed by the regulations of the Algerian Cycling Federation and the International Cycling Union.
It is supervised by a race commissioner and an anti-doping inspector.
