Arab athletics championships (Day 2):  Chenitef (1500m) clinches Algeria's third gold medal

CAIRO (Egypt)- Algerian Athletes (men and women) have won three medals, including one gold by middle-distance runner Haithem Chenitef (1500m), on Sunday, the second day of the Arab U23 Championships being held in Ismailia, Egypt.

The two other medals, bronze medals, went to Malak Fertouni (women's 400m) and Ghania Rezik (women's 1500m).

Algeria's medal tally has reached eight medals: three gold, five bronze, a half of which were won, Saturday, on the competition's first day, starting with Melissa Touloum's bronze medal in the 10,000m (women's walk).

Wissem Souissi and Amine Ouhioune added afterwards two bronze medals, respectively in the javelin throw (women) and the high jump (men).

Algeria's first two gold medals went to Hamel Rahil (women's 100m hurdles) and Ismail Benhammouda (men's 10,000m walk).
