For his part, Anes Dja-Yahia won the bronze medal, after ranking third in 3000 meters steeplechase, bringing Algeria's provisional total to ten medals: four gold and six bronze.
Algeria’s first three gold medals were clinched by Haïthem Chenitef (1500 meters), Rahil Hamel (100 meters/hurdles) and Ismaïl Benhammouda (10.000 meters/ walk).
The five bronze medals were harvested by Malak Fertouni (400 meters), Ghania Rezik (1500 meters), Melissa Touloum (10.000 meters/walk), Wissem Souissi (javelin throw) and Amine Ouhioune (high jump).
Algeria is participating in this competition with a total of 22 athletes.
The other Algerian athletes participating in this competition are: Lina Maria Guedal (4x400 meters), Lyna Benaïbouche (shot put), Rokaïa Mouici (800m and 1500m), Malak Belhadi (100m/hurdles), Darine Hadil Rezik (high jump) and Wissal Harkas (women’s triple jump), as well as Mohamed Skander Bahbouh (discus throw), Louaï Lamraoui (long jump), Mohamed Seif-Eddine Hafsi (800 meters), and Abderrahmane Djaber (high jump).[/ecr]
