CAIRO – The Algerian athletics team (men/women) added four more medals to their tally, two of them gold, as the Arab Under-23 Championships wrapped up Tuesday evening at Ismailia’s Suez Canal Stadium in Egypt.

Haithem Chenitef struck gold in the 800 meters, as did Lyna Benaibouche in the shot put. Bronze medals were added by Ghania Rezik in the 800 meters and Mohamed Iskander Bahbouh in the discus throw.

This haul brings Algeria’s medal count to fourteen medals: 6 gold and 8 bronze.

Algeria fielded a team of 22 athletes for this competition (6-9 July), aiming to proudly represent the national colors, while trying to collect as many medals as possible.
