Running from October 28 through November 1, the five-day sporting event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and co-organized by the Algerian Federation of Sport and Work (FAST) and local sports officials. Participants represent 11 countries, including Algeria, Germany, England, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal, organizers said.
The race is divided into five stages, with runners covering approximately 40 kilometers daily, totaling 222 kilometers over the course of the event.
DJS Ouamane Fodil confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure the competition runs smoothly and successfully.
In interviews with APS, international participants described the race as an “unforgettable experience,” highlighting the opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes of this Saharan region.
They also expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome extended by local residents.
