The statement was made by the UN commission's head, Navi Pillay, at a meeting on the commission's report on the sidelines of the 56th session of the UN Council of Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland.
Pillay said that thousands of children might be still under the rubble following the occupation army's airstrikes in Gaza.
She added that the Zionist aggression had seriously damaged the infrastructures needed for children's well-being, such as hospitals, schools and basic services in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist occupation army has launched a devastating war of aggression against the population of Gaza, resulting in more than 122,000 casualties, most of whom women and children, and over 10,000 missing people, in addition to massive destruction and famine.
