TICAD: Ministerial meeting rules in favor Sahrawi side after Morocco failed to exclude SADR

TOKYO-The participants in the ministerial meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on Africa’s Development (TICAD) have settled the issue of participation in TICAD meetings in favor of the Sahrawi side after the Moroccan diplomacy’s demands failed to exclude the Sahrawi Arab Diplomatic Republic (SADR) from this meeting.

[ecr] TICAD’s ministerial meeting wrapped up Today with the adoption of a joint statement in which the participants ruled in favor of the Sahrawi party’s participation in the TICAD meetings.

The statement unequivocally enshrines the right of all AU member States to attend partnership meetings between Africa and Japan.

In this respect, the document said that Morocco was the only country to have expressed reservations about the expression “member states of the African Union”.

Morocco had no choice but to dissociate itself from the consensus reached at the Tokyo meeting on the question of participation.

This was yet another failure on the part of Moroccan diplomacy, which found itself completely isolated in its demands to exclude the SADR.

None of the African countries that Morocco considers to be “traditional allies” felt it necessary to come to the Moroccan delegation's aid on this issue. The latter are certainly bothered and dispirited by the villainous behavior of Moroccan thugs falsely claiming to be diplomats.[/ecr]
