Arab League decides to initiate procedures to freeze Zionist entity's participation in UN

CAIRO-The Ministers of Foreign Ministers, who met Tuesday in Cairo, decided to initiate procedures to freeze the Zionist entity’s participation in the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) for non-compliance with the goals and principles of the UN Chart, failure to its commitment to the Un and the threat it poses to international peace and security.

In this regard, the Arab Ambassadors Group to New York has been entrusted with submitting a request to freeze the Zionist entity’s participation to the president of the UN General Assembly (GA), and through him to the Credentials Committee, which is set up at the beginning of the General Assembly, while working to mobilize international support for this purpose, based on the historic advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on July 19, 2024, which stipulates that members of the international community must take concrete steps to put an end to Zionist violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

This decision by the Council of Arab Ministers of Foreign Affairs is an endorsement of the approach that Algeria has consistently advocated, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, who has called on several occasions, both at the level of the Arab League and within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to tighten the noose on the Zionist occupation in international forums, notably the UN.[/ecr]
