Speaking at the 20th session of the International Islamic Forum, held on Friday and Saturday in the Russian capital, Ghlamallah affirmed that “Algeria, with its historical heritage of resistance to colonialism, has always asserted itself by supporting the rights of oppressed peoples and just causes, under the values of Islam and human coexistence, inspired by its authentic history.”
Recalling the values of peace and dialogue, embodied in the historic positions of Emir Abdelkader, pioneer of the values of living together, and the achievements of the glorious War of Liberation, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, Ghlamallah considered that “dialogue between civilizations and religions, as well as coexistence between peoples, can only be achieved if the legitimate rights of peoples are recognized and respected, prejudice is dispelled, and injustice and aggression are condemned, as is the case for the Palestinian people, victims of indescribable crimes committed in violation of international laws and customs.”
Ghlamalah also emphasized that the High Islamic Council was working to “enhance cooperation and develop joint action projects with institutions and representative bodies throughout the world, to confront the hate campaigns propagated by parties striving to sow chaos and fan the flames of conflict between peoples and countries.”
The President of the High Islamic Council urged the leaders of international institutions to build genuine projects for dialogue and coexistence, to protect humanity, especially the new generations, from the dangers of hate campaigns, so that the values of mutual respect prevail between civilizations and recognition of the natural rights of peoples is embodied.
The International Islamic Forum is organized under the theme of “The Path of Peace and Dialogue, the Basis of Mutual Coexistence”, with the participation of muftis, academics, scholars and Islamic personalities from all over the world.[/ecr]
