On the sidelines of the closing of the 38th meeting of the APRM Focal Points Committee, held in Algiers via videoconference, Mansouri said that the participants insisted on “the necessity to strengthen cooperation between member States and to intensify support for the mechanism so it can achieve its goals: promoting transparency, political stability, and inclusive development.”

In a statement to the press, she noted that the committee “emphasized the importance of expanding the mechanism’s role to the continent’s emerging priorities such as economic and sustainable development.”

The participants “welcomed the efforts made by the continental mechanism's secretariat and member states of this initiative” and “emphasized the need to continue dialogue and collective work to achieve the vision of a prosperous Africa,” she said.

Mansouri further said that the work of this 38th meeting allowed participants to “examine ways to strengthen good governance and sustainable development in Africa” and to “review progress made in certain member States, as well as challenges and opportunities that allow increasing APRM’s effectiveness on the ground.”

The Secretary of State for African Affairs also affirmed that “under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, current chairman of the APRM Forum of Heads of State and Government, the mechanism’s position has been strengthened as the main tool for governance assessment and exchange of best practices between member States.”

“His vision has guided efforts toward strengthening African cooperation to meet common challenges in a spirit of solidarity and synergy, based on Algeria’s deep-rooted commitment to the continent’s development and stability,” she noted.

For her part, the Executive Director of the APRM Continental Secretariat, Ambassador Marie-Antoinette Rose Quatre, expressed her gratitude to all countries that have shown their support for the APRM Forum and their support for countries facing security challenges across the continent.

Rose Quatre called for the adhesion of new member States during the next session, in order to enrich its agenda and achieve the outlined goals and expected results.

In this respect, she praised the efforts made by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to carry out the work of the mechanism and ensure the success of the 2025-2028 strategic action plan and the program of the APRM Heads of State and Government Forum Summit, scheduled for next February.
