In Oran, the capital of the country's west, provincial authorities supervised the examination's kickoff ceremony of at Moudjahid Zorgani Hassan High School, in Es-Senia.

A total of 29,535 examinees are sitting for the exam throughout the province of Oran, in 92 examination centres, including 8,272 independent candidates.

Twenty-two examinees in Oran are people with special needs while 153 are detainees in rehabilitation centres, the provincial Education Department said.
