In the installation ceremony of the sub-governor Boualem Alouache, attended by local authorities, elected officials and civil society representatives, the minister said that “this appointment, recently decided by the president of the Republic as part of promoting seven sub-prefectures into sub-provinces, aims at bringing the citizens closer to the decision-making process, bolstering local management mechanisms and finding solutions to the local problems and concerns of the citizens, while realizing a sustainable and inclusive development thanks to the potential and resources of these provinces.”
He said that 2024 “will be one of local development par excellence” given the significant budgets allocated under the 2024 Finance bill, which he described as “unmatched in terms of promoting local development to serve the citizens’ aspirations.”
The minister also said that “the promotion of these new sub-provinces into provinces will occur as soon as possible,” hoping that it will be by the end of next year.
After listing “the achievements made, thanks to the program of the president of the Republic, who is working to honor his commitments to citizens,” Merad said that “the process of creating new provinces continues according to the plan of the President. The operation was completed in the south, before continuing it in the High Plateaus and then in the north of the country.”
On this occasion, the governor of Djelfa, Ammar Ali Bensaad, highlighted the assets of Ain Oussara, which includes four sub-prefectures and ten municipalities, noting that it covers an area of 6,364 km2 and has 348,000 inhabitants.
