SIPA, important step in supporting fishing and aquaculture sector

ORAN- Minister for Fishing and Fisheries Ahmed Badani said on Sunday in Oran that the International Fishing and Aquaculture Exhibition (SIPA) was an important step in supporting the development of the fishing and aquaculture sector.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the exhbition, held in Oran under the high patronage of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister said that this event had become "an important forum for exchanging expertise and experience and transferring technology in various fields related to the sector," adding that this event was considered to be one of the most distinguished in terms of participation (174 exhibitors, including 23 from 16 foreign countries), or in terms of the agreements signed as part of its activities.

He added that a number of agreements had been signed during the event, including those relating to cooperation between the Ministry of Fishing and Fisheries and the National Civil Society Observatory, as well as between the Algerian Chamber of Fishing and Aquaculture and the Chamber of Agriculture, Fishing, Animal Resources and Forests of Cameroon, as well as between the Algerian Chamber of Fishing and Aquaculture and the Algerian National Bank (BNA).

The closing ceremony also witnessed the signing of four other agreements, the first between the National Chamber of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Trust insurance company for the insurance of fishing vessels and equipment, the second between the National Fishing Research and Development Centre (CNRDP) and "'Mohamed Boudiaf'" University of Science and Technology in Oran. 

The third agreement was signed by the CNRDP and Belhadj Bouchaib University in Aïn Temouchent, and the fourth between Aquatec Agro and Marina System Equipment, a company specialising in the manufacture of floating docks.

The minister said that the exhibition had launched the " Functional Terminology Dictionary for Fisheries and Aquaculture " on Android, which can be downloaded and used for free. 

For his part, Juan Carlos Loyo Hernandez, Minister of the Venezuelan People's Authority for Fisheries and Aquaculture, said that this 9th International Trade Fair was one of the best he had attended, and that it had been organized in accordance with world standards, adding that his country's "participation in this event will be an initiative aimed at developing the partnership between the two countries in the field of fisheries and aquaculture." 

The four-day exhibition was organized by the National Chamber of Fishing and Aquaculture under the slogan "Towards sustainable food security." [/ecr]
