Chairing the reburial ceremony for five fallen freedom fighters in the martyrs' square of El Malah, as part of the festivities commemorating the National Mujaheed Day, the minister emphasized that 'we honor this annual observance, which enshrines two distinct and pivotal events in our nation's jihad and struggle for liberty and independence. These historical milestones reflect the genius and intelligence of our revolutionary leaders, who orchestrated high-caliber operations blending armed struggle, military action, and political-diplomatic efforts.”
He said that “this occasion immortalizes the attacks of North Constantine, on August 20, 1955, under the direction of the eminent martyr, the emblematic Zighoud Youcef, and the success of the revolutionary leadership in holding its congress at Oued Soummam, on August 20, 1956.”
The minister added that 'these events come in the wake of moving forward to give concrete expression to the platform of the declaration of November 1, 1954 and to face the destructive plans that bet on the illusions of maintaining Algeria under occupation and keeping it under control, using all means to abort the aspiration of the Algerian people to live in glory, freedom and sovereignty.'
Rebigua underscored “The unwavering resolve of the Mujahedeen, who sacrificed themselves for liberty, was the decisive factor in overturning the equation and securing victories on the battlefield, in diplomatic efforts, and at the negotiating table. Their steadfastness and nobility remain a source of enduring glory and pride for generations.”
The minister emphasized: 'Our gathering today expresses the fidelity and sincerity we derive from the spirit of sacrifice that defined the November generation of Martyrs and Mujahedeen. Likewise, the generations since independence have carried the eternal message of the need to remain united, cohesive, and solidary in service of Algeria's best interests.'"
