In Ouargla, an exhibition dedicated to the commercialization of rural women's products was organized at the Islamic cultural center, on the initiative of the local Department of Social Action and Solidarity (DASS), with the participation of 25 artisans active in different trades, as stated by the sector director, Ahmed Sakhi.
These trades include weaving, sewing, vegetable oil extraction, and beauty product manufacturing, as well as models of businesses set up by women who have succeeded in various entrepreneurship projects, particularly livestock feed production and integrated aquaculture-agriculture, he pointed out.
Sakhi added that numerous women entrepreneurs have received training, support and project funding as part of the State's efforts to boost the integration of rural women and housewives into the national economy.
In Touggourt, a similar event was launched in the town hall of the provincial capital, with local authorities inaugurating the exhibition. It showcased 53 women artisans offering a variety of traditional craft products, including embroidery, basketry, weaving, and organic cosmetics.
On this occasion, the head of the rural women's unit at the local forest conservation, Siham Babaarbi, announced a rich and varied program.
The program includes training cycles for rural women in certain areas of agricultural activity, including poultry farming, aquaculture, beekeeping, cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, cheese production and vegetable oil extraction.[/ecr]
