Speaking at the opening of a training seminar for officials in charge of the management, administration and supervision of the activities of the National Office for Wakfs and Zakat, the Minister said that "out of 14,500 wakfs recovered, nearly 5,000 wakfs has been regularised," noting that "the operation is still in progress."
"Efforts to recover and digitize wakfs in Algeria will continue," he said stressing that "the process of defining all wakfs will probalbly lead to future investment."
In his speech to the seminar participants, the Minister stressed the need to focus on "investment in wakfs and their management by all possible means," saying that the National Office for Wakfs and Zakat "has a major role to play in achieving this objective."
The Wakfs, which "once contributed to the preservation of national identity, can now contribute to the achievement of the country's sustainable development, in line with the strategic vision of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune," Said Belmehdi. [/ecr]
